It all started in a suburb located almost in the outskirts of the capital city of Ghana (Pokuase Ampax) on 10th of February 2019 as a small house fellowship with two families. It experienced some growth and, on the 6th October 2019, the first Sunday Service was held in a hall of a private University (University of Applied Management). However, by March 2020 our world was struck by the infamous Covid19, and services were suspended except for some limited virtual ones.
It was not until September 2020 that in-person meetings resumed with some restrictions. Through all these, the Lord continued to add to his church daily, people who are being saved and, on the 24th January 2021, The Community Gospel Centre – TCGC was officially inaugurated with a membership of about fifteen with Stephen Adio (Rev) as the planter, assisted by Patrick Asiamah (Pastor).
The congregation is burning with the passion to reach out to the community and experience a ‘Revival’. According to Donald McGavran, “What answer shall we make to our fellow human beings if, while providing them with all the lesser furnishings of the banquet of life, we withhold from them the bread and meat we know is true nourishment?” TCGC has come to stay, not just to help with the lesser nourishments of life but to serve our community, nation, and world with the true nutriment of life; the unadulterated Word of God and make from all peoples, disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:18-20).
